PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical drop cable capable of preventing an optical fiber from being damaged due to the oviposition of a bear cicada. SOLUTION: This optical drop cable is composed of an optical fiber core wire using a single mode fiber or a holey fiber having resistance to bending, an up jacket constituted by covering the optical fiber core wire with urethane or nylon or ultraviolet curing resin, a tension member passing through above and below the up jacket, an outer cover covering the up jacket and the tension member with low density polyethylene, and a supporting wire for suspending the outer cover to protect the optical fiber core wire from the oviposition of a bear cicada.
