PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint for a flexible pipe capable of securely preventing a seal rubber from being pressed and deformed by a pressing ring in the half-inserted state during stock-storage etc. of the joint before insertion of the flexible pipe. SOLUTION: The pressing ring 7 in the half-inserted state is positioned and held in an initial position in which a tip part of the pressing ring 7 is located on the rear side of the seal rubber 6 before insertion of the flexible pipe 2. A positioning and holding means is constituted by covering an exposed outer face of the pressing ring 7 in the half-inserted state with a heat-shrinkable plastic film or sheet or its tube 32 with thickness larger than a clearance c between the inner peripheral face of a port part 3 and the outer peripheral face of the pressing ring 7 so that the front end part 32a of the plastic film or sheet or its tube 32 is made to abut on an inlet side end face 3a of the port part 3 and heating and shrinking the plastic film or sheet or its tube 32 to surround the exposed outer face. After insertion of the flexible pipe 2, the plastic film or sheet or its tube 32 is removed so that the pressing ring 7 is pressed by the pressing margin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
