PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical microscope for obtaining a bright image, and an observation method. SOLUTION: The optical microscope related to one mode includes a first light source 11, a second light source 14, a first beam expander 12 for altering the beam diameter of a first laser beam, a dichroic mirror 16 for synthesizing the first laser beam altered in its beam diameter by the first beam expander with a second laser beam, a microlens array 19 for dividing the synthetic beam into a plurality of laser beams, the second beam expander 15 provided between the second light source 14 and the microlens array 19 to alter the beam diameter of the second laser beam, and a first object lens 24 for condensing a plurality of the laser beams divided by the microlens array 19 to irradiate a sample.
