<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance visibility or appearance of an image including a uniform color area. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image processor 10 includes a section 11 for receiving an image, a section 12 for extracting a uniform color area, i.e. an area having a background of uniform color, from the image, a section 13 for extracting the information of a uniform color area from the extracted uniform color area, and a section 14 for correcting the background color of at least one of two uniform color areas based on the degree of proximity of the two uniform color areas out of the extracted uniform color areas and the information of the uniform color area extracted from the two uniform color areas.
