<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power feeder in which a torsion spring in a brush pressing state can easily recover to a temporary attaching state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the power feeder in which a brush 34 contacts a commutator 12A of a rotor to feed power to the rotor, a slit 23 enabling an action side end portion 32a of the torsion spring 32 to come in and out is provided from a rear end side to a front end side on the sidewall of a brush holder body 20 for holding the brush 34 toward the commutator 12A, a retracting groove 24 is provided on one side of the slit 23 in the rear end surface of the body 20, a step portion 25 is provided and a guide 26 protruding to the rear is relatively provided on the opposite side, and the guide 26 is formed like an inclined surface gradually rising to the rear. In the rear end surface of the brush 34, if the brush 34 is pressed backward when an action side end portion 32a of the torsion spring 32 on which a tapered portion 35 narrowing in the rear is changed to be hung from the brush 34 to the retracting groove 24, the action side end portion 32a automatically shifts to the retracting groove 24 by being guided by the guide 26 and by the inclined surface 36 of the tapered portion 35.
