PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively emit white light including laser light and excitation light of a fluorescent material and light within a specific narrow visible wavelength spectrum with a smaller diameter and simple structure. SOLUTION: A light source unit to obtain the white light by mixing the laser light from a first light source 33 and the excitation light from a first wavelength conversion member 45 comprises a second light source 35 to emit infrared laser light whose center wavelength is a second wavelength including an infrared light zone, a light coupling means 39 to induce the infrared laser light from the second light source 35 into a light path on an incident light side of an optical fiber 21, and a second wavelength conversion member 47 provided ahead of the incident light side of the optical fiber 21 in the light path to excite and emit the light within the specific visible wavelength spectrum shorter than the second wavelength by the infrared laser light, and is capable of selectively emitting the white light and the light within the specific visible wavelength spectrum at the same time or either of them.
