<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor for performing conversion processing of a color gamut at high speed and with high quality, an image processing method and a computer program. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processor includes: a first conversion means for converting the pixel value of a pixel that input image data have to a pixel value included in a first color gamut corresponding to an image output device by a prescribed conversion table; a second conversion means for generating a conversion table on the basis of the distribution of the pixel value of the input image data, and converting the pixel value of the pixel that the input image data have to the pixel value included in the first color gamut by the conversion table; an acquisition means for acquiring the ratio of the pixels whose pixel values are included in a second color gamut including the first color gamut among the pixels that the input image data have; and a selection means for selecting one of the first conversion means and the second conversion means on the basis of the ratio acquired by the acquisition means.
