PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device which highly precisely positions a stop position of a vibration-type motor without increasing cost and enlarging the system. SOLUTION: The drive device performs intermittent drive control (steps S15 to S18) for temporarily stopping driving of the vibration-type motor whenever switching of a pulse signal is detected from a switching detection position of a pulse signal just before a plurality of pulse signals of an encoder to a switching detection position of the last pulse signal in a plurality of the pulse signals with respect to a previously decided target stop position of the vibration-type motor when controlling the stop position of the vibration-type motor based on drive information of the vibration-type motor, which is detected by the encoder, and stop position control (steps S25 to S27) for calculating a drive condition to the target stop position based on a drive state of the vibration-type motor in intermittent drive control, driving the vibration-type motor to the target stop position and stopping it in the target stop position by the calculated drive condition.
