PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrier rib for an organic EL element which is superior in respective characteristics such as transparency, heat resistance, heat-stable transparency, and solvent resistant characteristics, superior in adhesion, and having low degassing, a resin composition low in contraction at the time of heating calcination for forming this, and moreover, an organic EL element which has the barrier rib equipped with the characteristics, by using this resin composition and is superior in high luminance and reliability. SOLUTION: A resin composition for forming the barrier rib of the organic electroluminescent element that contains an annular olefin polymer (A) having a protonic polar group, a crosslinker (B), and a radiation-sensitive compound (C), and wherein the content of the radiation-sensitive compound is 10 to 45 pts.wt. basend on 100 pts.wt. of the annular olefin polymer, the barrier rib formed by using this resin composition, the organic electroluminescent element having this barrier rib is provided.
