An injection device in which a coupling element (30) in permanent rotational engagement with a driver element (50) can be shifted in and out of engagement with a dose dial sleeve (20) such that the drive element (50) can either follow the rotation of the dose dial sleeve (20) and be de-coupled from the dose dial sleeve (20). In the de-coupled position the drive sleeve (50) is guided in non-axial tracks (12) or grooves located on the inside surface of the housing (10).
