The invention relates to a clearing vehicle for cleaning long stretches of fixed carriageway such as runways for aircraft, said vehicle comprising at least one rotating brush element, the rotational axis of which runs substantially horizontally and transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and to the driving direction and the brushes of which sweep the carriageway in the driving direction of the clearing vehicle and also comprising at least one transverse conveyor element, located in front of the rotating brush element in the driving direction, for the permanent removal of the material captured and/or swept up from the carriageway by the brush element in a lateral direction in relation to the clearing vehicle. The invention also relates to a method for cleaning and/or clearing a long stretch of an in particular linear, fixed carriageway, in particular a taxiway and/or runway of an airfield, said carriageway being optionally divided into segments in the longitudinal direction for several clearing units and said segments being traversed by clearing vehicles from one side to the opposite side, at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the carriageway, and thus being simultaneously cleaned and/or cleared. |
