SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR GENERATION OF AN ATMOSPHERE

A device (PC, ACD) for control of generation of an atmosphere, e.g. in the form of light and sound effects, the device (PC, ACD) including a user interface (AI) for receiving a speech input (SI), a voice recognition unit (VRU) arranged to recognize one or more keywords (KW) in the speech input (SI), and a parameter generator (PG) for selecting a set of atmosphere parameters (AP), e.g. parameters indicating the setting of light, sound etc., linked to the one or more keywords (KW). These parameters (AP) can be sent to an atmosphere generating system that will generate the atmosphere accordingly by means of transducers such as lamps, loudspeakers, vibration actuators, ventilation fans etc. The device allows keywords of a story being read aloud to concurrently execute predetermined scripts that serve to generate atmospheres following and underlining the content of the story being read aloud, e.g. to give children a more active impression when being read aloud to. In some embodiments, the device is arranged to maintain one set of atmosphere parameters until a special change criterion is met, e.g. lapse of a certain period of time, when the reader emphasizes a keyword, or when a button is pressed.
