The present invention relates to a device for detecting an analyte in a fluid or for performing a reaction in a fluid comprising a capture probe module, wherein the capture probe module comprises a microchannel comprising one or more surface area elements confined by a porous barrier, and wherein particles are trapped by said porous barrier within the one or more surface area elements, and wherein said particles may not pass said porous barrier but the fluid may pass said porous barrier.
