PURPOSE:To increase productivity by forming a terminal of positive or negative electrode with a hollow pipe, installing small holes on the side wall of the pipe corresponding to unit cells, pouring electrolyte from the pipe, then sealing the upper part of the pipe. CONSTITUTION: A metal pipe 6 also serving as a terminal of a negative electrode 4 is electrically insulated from a container cover 2 with a glass seal 10, and a positive electrode 3 is connected with a container 1 with a positive lead 9. Small holes 8 are installed on the side wall of the pipe 6 corresponding to unit cells, and the positive electrode 3 is wrapped with a separator 5. An electrolyte is poured from the pouring hole of the pipe 6 to supply the electrolyte to individual cell through the small hole 8, then the pouring hole is sealed. Thereby, the time required to supply electrolyte to each cell is shortened. By eliminating the installation of separate pouring hole, the number of parts is reduced and productivity is increased. |
