<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To analyze the differentiation activity of a stem cell in an arbitrary stage under culture without wasting the stem cell used for the measurement of the differentiation activity. <P>SOLUTION: The method for analyzing the differentiation activity includes a measuring step S1 for generating high-frequency non-uniform electric field by applying a high-frequency voltage to a cell suspension containing the stem cell, and measuring the dielectrophoretic characteristics of the stem cell from the balance of the dielectrophoretic force acting on the stem cell, the gravity and the buoyancy in the high-frequency non-uniform electric field, a comparing step S2 for comparing the electrophoretic characteristics measured in the measuring step S1 with a prescribed threshold, and a judging step S3 for judging the differentiation activity of the stem cell based on the result of the comparison in the comparing step S2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
