PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective circuit which prevents the breakage of an input device and a power supply when an input voltage is input to the input device. SOLUTION: The protective circuit includes a rectifying/level-converting circuit 11 which converts the voltage level of an input voltage Vi input from the power supply 2 to generate a voltage VP, a DC voltage generating circuit 12 which generates a DC voltage VC from the converted voltage VP from the rectifying/level-converting circuit 11, an AC/DC detecting circuit 13 which detects whether the input voltage Vi is an AC voltage or a DC voltage, based on the voltage VC generated by the DC voltage generating circuit 12 and the voltage VP, and a switch/fuse circuit 14 which implements control to determine whether to cut off input of the input voltage Vi to the input device 103 to which the input voltage Vi is to be input, based on an AC voltage or a DC voltage detected by the AC/DC detecting circuit 13.
