<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam recovery device capable of recovering steam into a water tank to condense it into water without discharging it outside and on stably sensing a water level inside the tank, a cooker provided with the device and a level sensor applicable to the device or the cooker. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A quantity-of-light decay rate generated by a damage applied to the water tank 7 is obtained from an output of a damage sensing part 9.
