<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair setting device reducing hair setting in a shape different from a desired shape. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hair setting device 1 has a pair of pinching members 2 and 3 for holding hair H between them, a vibration part 5 having a vibrator and provided on the pinching member 2 for generating ultrasonic vibration, and a receiving part 6 provided on the pinching part 3 so as to face the vibration part 5 and to hold the hair H between the vibrator 5 and the receiving part 6. Pressing parts 9 on the vibration part side and pressing parts 12 on the receiving part side are provided so as to face each other in a length direction of the hair of the vibration part 5 and the receiving part 6 in the pinching parts 2 and 3. The hair setting device is composed so that a modulus of elasticity in a hair pinching direction of the receiving part 6 and a modulus of elasticity in a hair pinching direction of the pressing parts 12 on the receiving side are the same.
