摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize alignment of liquid crystal molecules by suppressing a liquid crystal having absorbed the ultraviolet ray from generating high-temperature heat, and to improve the production efficiency of a liquid crystal display device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device includes: forming a plurality of pixels in a matrix between a TFT substrate and a counter electrode substrate, and irradiating the substrate for liquid crystal display with UV rays while applying an electric field to each of the pixels of the substrate for liquid crystal display with the liquid crystal sealed therein to align the molecules of the liquid crystal in a prescribed direction. The method includes:a first step of bringing one surface of the substrate for liquid crystal display into contact with a cooling medium, and a second step of irradiating the substrate for liquid crystal display with a prescribed amount of UV rays while a prescribed electric field is applied to each pixel.
