<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material testing machine for easily inputting test conditions without an error. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The material testing machine includes an auxiliary storage 14 for storing a plurality of test conditions associated with the material shape information of a test piece, and an input operation section 3 for inputting the material shape information (material, shape, and dimension) of the test piece and test conditions. A controller 1 includes an input auxiliary section, for instance, a display monitor 10 for displaying an appropriate range, for calculating the proper range of a test condition for the test piece TP based on the material shape information of the test piece TP and the test conditions stored in the auxiliary storage 14, notifying the test condition information based on the proper range, and assisting a user's input so that the testing condition to be input is within the proper range.
