<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an olefin polymer, enabling stable long-term continuous production by suppressing attachment of a polymer (copolymer) to a mixing blade, generation of abnormal reaction products, and formation of coarse particles as for the method for producing the olefin polymer by a continuous vapor-phase polymerization using a polymerization tank equipped with the mixing blade. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A vapor-phase polymerization apparatus is used which has the polymerization tank equipped with the mixing blade and a catalyst-pretreating part. In the catalyst-pretreating part, an olefin polymerization catalyst (X) is brought into contact and mixed with a polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-glycol-based compound (G) represented by general formula (I): HO-(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>O)<SB>a</SB>-(C<SB>3</SB>H<SB>6</SB>O)<SB>b</SB>-(C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>O)<SB>c</SB>-H [wherein, the total of (a) and (c) is a number of 1-50; and (b) is a number of 5-100].
