<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a template device for spreading particulate food which is made to draw a favorable pattern when spreading particulate food on the surface of a food such as cooked rice. <P>SOLUTION: A base window hole (7) that shows the contour of a base pattern (B) is opened in a first template (8) formed on a first member (1) and a detail window hole (13) that shows the contour of a detail pattern (D) is opened in a second template (14) formed on a second member (2). The base pattern (B) is formed on the surface of a subject food (F) such as cooked rice by spreading a particulate food (G1) while the first template (8) is placed on the surface of the subject food (F) and then the second template (14) is placed over the first template (8). Position determining means (15a) (15b) which fix and hold both templates (8) (14) are provided so that the detail window hole (13) may be placed at a predetermined position of the base window hole (7) when superimposing the templates.
