Disclosed is a covered wire for wiring harness, which comprises a cover layer composed of a covering resin composition which is obtained by blending not less than 50 parts by weight but not more than 100 parts by weight of a metal hydrate and not less than 1 part by weight but not more than 5 parts by weight of an external lubricant per 100 parts by weight of a base resin composition consisting of not less than 50 parts by weight but not more than 75 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin, not less than 20 parts by weight but not more than 40 parts by weight of a propylene/a-olefin copolymer and the balance of a low-density polyethylene.
