The injector (1) has an injector body (2) with high-pressure areas (3-5) that are connected with a high-pressure fuel source (11). The areas are connected with a combustion chamber over an injection nozzle (9) for injecting fuel, where the nozzle is controlled by a nozzle needle (8). An actuator (15) is arranged in a pressure-free actuator area (14) of the body, and is hydraulic coupled with the needle. The nozzle needle is liftably coupled with a slave piston (23). The actuator and head pistons (19) on one side and the needle and the slave piston on another side exhibit different stroke axis.
