<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly perform processing regarding an information medium processor having a magnetic head. <P>SOLUTION: This information medium processor includes: a conveyance path 10 in which an information medium with MICR characters printed at a prescribed print position is conveyed; a magnetic head 70 provided at the conveyance path 10 for detecting magnetism of the MICR characters; an image reading means 30 provided at the conveyance path 10 for reading the image of the information medium; a conveyance means 142 provided at the conveyance path 10, and equipped with an approaching mechanism for bringing the information medium near a region where the magnetism of the magnetic head 70 can be detected; and a control part 143 for detecting the reference edge of the information medium on the basis of the image read by the image reading means 30, and for deciding whether or not the print position is separated from the region of the magnetic head 70 where the print position can be detected on the basis of the reference edge by a predetermined distance. When the print position is separated by the predetermined distance, the conveyance means 142 brings the information medium near the region where the magnetism can be detected while conveying the information medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
