PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering a deteriorated quality to the original state by a quality recovery control method provided in an inkjet recording apparatus, even in the occurrence of quality deterioration after an unused ink cartridge is opened or when an recycled ink cartridge is used. SOLUTION: This is a liquid maintenance method in a liquid container and is characterized in that the liquid container is provided with a portion having a photocatalyst and that the photocatalyst is irradiated with light with a predetermined timing and under prescribed irradiation conditions.
