FACE DIRECTION DETECTING PROGRAM, FACE DIRECTION DETECTING METHOD, AND FACE DIRECTION DETECTING UNIT

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face direction detecting unit which reduces power consumption of an automatic processing apparatus and extend a lifetime of the apparatus when it is applied to an automatic processing apparatus which operates in response to a user's input operations. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When detecting an object located in a sensing area of a sensor of an object sensing unit, the user detecting unit 10 detects that the object is a human and the face direction of the human and outputs the detected results. The ATM 1 determines that the human is the user if his/her face output by the user detecting unit 10 faces the front. Accordingly switching of ATM 1 from standby mode to execution mode is prevented when objects or passersby pass by the ATM 1, power consumption of ATM 1 is reduced, and a lifetime of ATM 1 is extended sufficiently.
