<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam converging prism which is built in one body and comparatively easy for positioning, can reduce heat generation by a rather simple configuration even if a comparatively large power laser beam is converged. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This prism 30 is composed by assembling and unitizing a first triangular prism 31 having a base of a first isosceles right triangle, a second triangular prism 32 having a base of a second isosceles right triangle of the same shape as the first isosceles right triangle, a third triangular prism 33 having a base of a third isosceles right triangle forming its right angle with oblique sides of the first and second isosceles right triangles, and a reflective and transmissive plate 34 having a polarizing reflective area 34a reflecting the incident laser beam in the incident direction and changing the polarization direction of the return beam and a transmissive area 34b where the incident laser beam passes through.
