<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control technology capable of making a wheel cylinder pressure more accurately follow a target value even when an application such as an ABS control is executed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the brake control device in one embodiment, a limit gradient value corresponding to an operating state of each retention valve is selected when performing a feedback control of an upstream pressure of the retention valve and a filtering processing is executed with respect to a detection value of the upstream pressure. Thus, an actual value (actual pressure) of the upstream pressure is accurately estimated even when the control for changing an open/closed state of the retention valve is executed for each wheel. Accordingly, an estimated value of the actual pressure is fed back so that each wheel cylinder pressure can be made to accurately follow its target wheel cylinder pressure.
