FRESHNESS KEEPING CONTAINER AND FRESHNESS KEEPING METHOD FOR LEAF VEGETABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive refrigerated transport method using an incinerable packing material while maintaining freshness inhibiting leaf vegetable from etiolating or wilting during a high-temperature season. SOLUTION: A high-density polyethylene bag is used as an inside bag 32 in a corrugated cardboard box 31. A leaf vegetable 34 packaged with an open anti-fogging film 33 and a sufficiently cooled refrigerant 35 are placed in the bag 32. The opening of the bag 32 is not sealed but is lightly folded and the box 31 is secured with a shipping tape for shipment. By utilizing vacuum precooling or the like and by maintaining the inside of the bag 32 at a proper low oxygen-high carbon dioxide condition simultaneously, it is possible to inhibit the leaf vegetable during a high-temperature season from etiolating or wilting during transportation.
