<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens unit ensuring positioning accuracy of a rear side lens group relative to a front side lens group, and reducing backlash of a moving lens frame relative to a second lens frame, thereby improving sliding property of the moving lens frame. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lens unit includes: a front group lens frame 52 that holds the front side lens group 53 and has an abutting surface 79 formed along in a radial direction R of the front side lens group 53; a movable lens frame 56 that holds a movable lens 57 and moves the movable lens 57 back and forth in an optical axis direction between the front side lens group 53 and the rear side lens group 55; a rear group lens frame 54 that has a surface to be slid 54h on which the movable lens frame 56 slides formed on its inner surface and holds the rear side lens group 55 behind the movable lens 57; and a position control frame 58 that is fit to outer circumferences of the front group lens frame 52 and the rear group lens frame 54 and has an edge surface 80 in contact with the abutting surface 79 of the front group lens frame 52.
