<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic faucet with illumination function improved in design and aesthetic appearance by compactly forming a discharge pipe, suppressed in cost, and enabling the user to easily know the position of the discharge pipe even positioned in the dark. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this automatic faucet 10 having an optical sensor as a detection sensor, the light of the optical sensor is visible, and the light emitting section 30 of the optical sensor serves as a light emitting section for illumination. The light emitting section 30 can illuminate even when a human body is not detected, and when the human body is detected, can increase the brightness more than in the case where the human body is not detected.
