HIGH-PRESSURE DISCHARGE LAMP DEVICE AND PROJECTOR USING THE SAME

Provided is a simple high-pressure discharge lamp device wherein local temperature increase of a light emitting tube is suppressed when the device is turned on and temperature distribution in the light emitting tube is uniformized. In the lamp device, a lamp is fitted in a reflection mirror of a lamp unit, which is assembled to the reflection mirror by having the center axis of the lamp and the optical axis of the reflection mirror accord with each other, in a state where a pair of circular bodies having circumferentially-formed outer circumference surfaces with a fixed gap therebetween and the optical axis of the reflection mirror and the center axis of the circumferential surfaces of the circular bodies accord with each other.  A pair of electrodes and the circumferential surfaces of the circular bodies are electrically connected and the circular bodies are mounted on two rotating rollers arranged in parallel and a drive motor drives the lamp unit to rotate in a fixed direction on the rotating roller.  The lamp device is provided with a power feed member which feeds the circular bodies with power.
