The method involves measuring a parameter in a coolant circuit, and monitoring electrical signals of a pressure sensor and a temperature sensor as the parameter with respect to arising changes. The pressure sensors measure pressure in the coolant circuit, where the temperature sensor measures coolant temperature in a cavitations-impaired area of a heat exchanger. An implosion of vapor bubbles is determined by changing the signals of the pressure sensor with respect to changing amplitude and/or changing frequency.
