PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery system for quickly identifying an earth position of a battery using a secondary battery. SOLUTION: The secondary battery system includes the battery 2 consisting of secondary batteries P11-P46, voltage-dividing resistors 31A and 31B for equally dividing positive and negative poles of the battery 2 at the intermediate point, an earth detecting resistor 32 for grounding the intermediate point, an earth detector 33 for detecting the earth based on current flowing in the earth detecting resistor 32, and a current direction determination circuit 34 for determining whether the earth position is on the positive pole GP or on the negative pole GN of the battery 2 based on the direction of the current flowing in the resistor 32.
