PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric writing instrument which enables selective exposure of a plurality of kinds of writing cores by the driving force of a motor. SOLUTION: The electric writing instrument 1 includes a shaft sleeve 2 which houses a plurality of kinds of writing cores 3, a writing core exposure mechanism 10 which enables a plurality of kinds of writing cores 3 to be selectively exposed by the driving force of a motor 20 from the tip of the shaft sleeve 2, an operation reception means 50 which activates the motor 20 and also commands to select the plurality of kinds of writing cores 3 by the writing core exposure mechanism 10. This instrument makes the operation reception means 50 conduct the selection command of the plurality of kinds of writing cores 3 which the user desired, and the driving force of the motor 20 can expose the writing cores 3 which the user desires from the leading end of the shaft sleeve 2 through the writing core exposure mechanism 10.
