PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push button switch hardly causing differences in operation timing of switch-over of the conduction states among a plurality of fixed contacts. SOLUTION: The push button switch comprises an operation member 2 held on a case 1 in an up-and-down movable manner and having a thrust shaft portion 21 to be pushed in, a movable contact piece 3 having movable contact portions 3a, 3b and held in the case 1 by the operation member 2, a return coil spring 4 arranged under the thrust shaft portion 21, and the plurality of fixed contacts 6-8 led out from terminals 5a-5c into the case 1. The common fixed contact 6 is erected to rise in a hollow portion 4a of the coil spring 4, and the first movable contact portion 3a of the movable contact piece 3 is consistently put in slide contact with the common fixed contact 6. The switch-over fixed contacts (the NO fixed contact 7 and the NC fixed contact 8) are arranged outside the hollow portion 4a near the coil spring 4, and the second movable contact portion 3b of the movable contact piece 3 is put in slide contact with both fixed contacts 7, 8 in a detachable manner.
