PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a system, and a product for managing consistency groups using heterogeneous replication engines replicating data. SOLUTION: A common linkage manager issues a consistency group creation prepare command to a first replication manager and a second replication manager, which create consistency groups of data in a first source storage and a second source storage and issue consistency group create commands to first and second replication engines. The first and second replication managers create a first consistency group and a second consistency group of data which are consistent at a point in time corresponding to the consistency group create commands, and the first and second replication managers commit data in the first and second consistency groups of first and second journals to first and second target storages respectively.
