PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of sorting by size, collecting and concentrating submilimetric particles without applying strong centrifugal force and/or shearing stress.

SOLUTION: The method of sorting, collecting and concentrating submilimetric particles includes a region for making a fluid containing the submilimetric particles flow in a main channel 1 and focusing the particles along the wall 7 of the main channel by means of the stream of a focusing solution introduced from a side channel 3 and a region for sorting and taking-off the particles as a function of the size of the particles downstream from the above region using a recirculation chamber 40 opened in the wall of the main channel.
