PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of reducing damages in a formed article, relating to a forming die and a method for manufacturing the forming die. SOLUTION: An article is formed by using a forming die 10 having a pattern including a concave portion and a convex portion formed on a die face, in which the pattern is formed to show a circular arc at the corner of the convex portion. The method for manufacturing the forming die 10 includes steps of: forming a pattern having a concave portion and a convex portion on a substrate 11; and etching the patterned substrate 11 to form a circular arc at the corner of the convex portion.
