PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer having excellent durability, which has charging properties stable to the variation in environments such as temperature and moisture, and in which the phenomenon that toner spent to the magnetic carrier is reduced, and also to provide a two-component developer comprising the magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer and toner. SOLUTION: In the magnetic carrier for an electrophotographic developer obtained by coating the surface of a spherical composite particle with the average particle diameter of 1 to 100μm at least composed of ferromagnetic iron oxide particulates and a binder resin with a resin, the binder resin is a cured phenol resin composed of phenol and specified phenols such as cresol, the phenol ratio to the total of the phenol and the phenols is 10 to 90 mol%, and the Henry's law constant K<SB>D</SB>in the water absorption of the magnetic carrier is 0.30 to 1.50 mg/g/kPa.
