Provided is an imaging device in which an analog-to-digital (A/D) converter (11) which counts and digitizes a clock having a frequency corresponding to the magnitude of an output signal from a pixel (10a) to generate a count value, calculates the difference between a first count value related to the output signal during the reset period of the pixel and a second count value related to the output signal of the light exposure period of the pixel, and outputs the difference thereof as an imaging signal of the pixel. A controller (12) controls the A/D converter so that the length of the count period of the first count value and the length of the count period of the second count value become identical.
