A header plate 12 for a heat exchanger 10, the header plate 12 comprises a main part 8 defining a plurality of slots 18 to receive tubes 14. The header plate 12 includes edges 24 for attachment to a tank 16 and the edges 24 being of a greater thickness than the main part. The header plate 12 is folded over onto itself at the edges 24. The edges 24 may twice the thickness of the main part 8. The ends (32, fig 3) of the edges 24 of the header plate 12 may lie adjacent a slot 18 and may be attached to the slot 18. A lip (20) of the header plate 12 may be around a slot 18. The lip (20) may extend towards or away from the tank 16. When the edges 24 are folded a series of projecting tabs 54 may be crimped over a foot (60, fig 6) of the tank 16 thereby securing it. |
