PURPOSE: An active driving system of a display unit using laser scanning and a method thereof are provided to determine the location and the direction of a user by a laser beam scan method, thereby making the display unit actively move according to the determined location and direction. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(120) rotates in left and right directions. The display unit is steered by a freedom degree driver(130). A laser scanning sensor(140) obtains distance information according to a scan angle through rotation scan by a laser beam. The laser scanning sensor offers the position detection information.
