<p>A packaging 11 for biological material comprises two substantially parallel walls 12, 13 connected to each other along a substantially part of their periphery 18, 19, 20 and in a central area 16. The packaging 11 may be used for cryopreservation of biological material. The packaging 11 may be provided with an opening 25 in the form of a funnel 26. A number of packages 11 may be connected together in a side by side relationship. Also described is a method of filing such a package 11. The package 11 may be closed by pulse welding. The connection in a central area 16 of the packaging 11 ensures that a significant volume of biological material can be stored while ensuring a uniform temperature of the whole contents during freezing/ thawing. The biological material may be fish or other animal semen, blood, etc.</p> |
