PURPOSE: A payment method of a smart card including a credit card payment function and a prepaid card payment function is provided to conveniently select a payment type according to a payment condition or a client request. CONSTITUTION: A terminal confirms a transaction amount(S500). The terminal compares whether a transaction request amount is smaller than beta(S502). The beta corresponds to a reference amount for determining prepaid card payment or credit card payment of the transaction request amount. The terminal demands the prepaid card payment to a smart card(S504). If deciding that the balance is deficient, the terminal confirms a charge request from the smart card(S506). The terminal demands charge information to a prepaid card server(S508).
