SURFACE-OXIDE ABRASION-RESISTANT LUBRICANT COATING AND METHOD FOR FORMING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A surface-oxide abrasion-resistant lubricant coating and a formation method thereof are provided to maintain high lubricating performance for a long time and to prevent damage to contact objects. CONSTITUTION: A surface-oxide abrasion-resistant lubricant coating comprises two kinds of metal oxide of high-melting point with different hardness. The metal oxide is created on a sliding contact part by the reaction of fine soft metal particles with the oxygen contained in compressed gas so as to have lower hardness and melting point than the base material of the sliding contact part. The coating is formed 0.1~2μm thick on the surface of the sliding contact part which contacts objects.
