<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-screen predictive coding device which suppresses generation of flickers in a decoding image accompanying in-screen prediction of an intra image (in-screen coding image) in compression coding of a video image, and can prevent deterioration of image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The in-screen predictive coding device 1 comprises a macro-block prediction evaluating means 5 which predicts a macro-block based on a plurality of predictive modes, calculates the degree of the prediction of an in-screen and a time direction (between screens) as the prediction evaluation value; a sub-block prediction evaluating means 7, which predicts a sub-block subdivided the macro-block based on the plurality of the predictive modes, and calculates the degree of the prediction of the in-screen and the time direction (between screens) as the prediction evaluation value; and a division/prediction mode determining means 10, which determines that the screen is divided by which split mode, a macro-block mode or a sub-block mode, based on the respective prediction evaluation value, and which prediction mode is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
