The invention relates to an apparatus for welding a plastic tube into a plastic member by the heated-tool method, in which two carriages (15, 18), provided with clamping elements, are arranged on a base frame (10) and can be adjusted with respect to each other by means of an adjusting device and in which a swivel lever (21, 22) swivel-mounted on the base frame can be used to swivel a heating device (30) in and out between the two clamping elements with the clamped-in plastic tube and the clamped-in plastic member, the heating device having a heated tool with a pot-like section for slipping onto the plastic tube and a cylindrical section for inserting into the plastic member. Universal use of the apparatus without any set-up times for various tube diameters is achieved by the heating device having a plurality of different heated tools (31, 32, 33) with in each case a pot-shaped section and a cylindrical section, and by the heating device itself being pivotally mounted on the swivel levers in such a way that, with the heating device swivelled in, the heated tools can, according to choice, be pivoted in between the two clamping elements with the clamped-in plastic tube and the clamped-in plastic member. ……
