PURPOSE: A display device is provided to prevent a user from being exposed from 3D image for a long time by converting the 2D image into the 3D image or the 3D image to the 2D image. CONSTITUTION: A display panel displays at least one or two images among 2D image or 3D image(S200,S210). A driving unit controls a period in which the 3D image is displayed. An 3D image converter converts the 3D image to a protective image if the period in which the 3D image is displayed in the display panel exceeds the first period(S300). The 3D image is converted to the protective image or the 3D image is continuously displayed selectively(S400). The protective image is converted to the 3D image or the protective image is continuously displayed selectively(S600).
